Niseko is a beautiful town with its hallmark of Mountain View of Yotei. The above is the Makkari Riverside Park 真狩河川公園 The view is picturesque and very relaxing. The fall colors have reached its finale. But it's still very nice landscape. When you're in the area, you can't miss the opportunity to dine in the French Restaurant Maccarina. I'm lucky to be able to book their lunch. It would be very nice too to be able to stay in their room for a night. I love their vegetable dish. It almost like an artwork.
The restaurant’s claim to fame was hosting a luncheon for the First Ladies that attended the Hokkaido Toyako Summit. It offers dishes that harmonize organic vegetables grown at a restaurant-owned farm with local wild plants and mushrooms picked in the surrounding area. Maccarina’s classy interior and stunning views of the distant mountains, including the snow-capped Mt. Yotei, make it a great place to enjoy the fabulous food on offer.
Another spot I love very much is the 有島記念館, at the time when I visit there is an exhibition of prize-winning artworks of their local students. I appreciated many very creative and mature artworks on display.
One of the highlights of my Hokkaido trip was to meet in person with my painter friend Shigeru Tokumaru, the owner of ST. gallery. I'm completely mesmerized by his gallery-house with fully incorporated paintings on wall. Each is such an inspiring and artistic representation of nature. I love nature a lot and his language to paint the trees, flowers, insects and birds was so spiritual and in deep connection of the essence of nature's Qi, the flow of energy in between plant life or mountain.
The piano feels very in home with all these wonderful nature artworks. Music is really a special rhythmic spiritual connection within the universe. And it has its meaningful and great place in all kind of art indeed. I played an excerpt of Chopin's Fantasia on this piano. What an unforgettable day!
And can you believe I saw the max. no of rainbow in one day in my entire life in here the Niseko and I even saw the double rainbow! I saw in total seven different rainbow in one single day!!! I'm so excited and feel grateful! Some rainbow just appears a few second so I wasn't fast enough to photograph it but below are just some pictures I took.
When you look closely above the house and mountain, there is the rainbow!
Near the area, you can also visit the 二世古高橋牧場 牛奶工房 & Niseko View Plaza Rest Area where you can buy some souvenirs and fresh harvest from their farm like tomatoes, fruits and zucchini.
